Leashes

Leashes for kitesurfing, wingfoiling, foiling, surfing and SUP: the leash keeps you attached to your kite, wing or board, for other people's safety as well as yours.

Which leash for which discipline?

  • Kitesurf: the safety leash links the harness to the kite, short or long depending on style, with quick release (Mystic, Ride Engine, Slingshot, North)
  • Wingfoil: wrist or waist wing leash, with a swivel so it does not twist (Mystic, North, Ride Engine, F-ONE)
  • Foil: coiled or calf board leash that keeps the board close without dragging in the water (F-ONE Foil Leash, Indiana, Mystic)
  • Surf: straight leash, 6′ or 8′ depending on board length
  • SUP: coiled ankle or knee leash on flat water

On rivers

In moving water an ankle leash can snag: use a waist leash with quick release.
