📘 How to choose — your buying guide
The mast connects your board to the foil: its length and material radically change the ride.
What length?
- Short (75–82 cm): safer and easier, ideal for shallow water, learning and small waves.
- 85 cm: the versatile default, a good compromise for most riders.
- Long (90 cm+): more margin before breaching, better control in chop, at speed and upwind. For experienced riders.
Aluminium or carbon?
- Aluminium: tough and affordable, a bit heavier and softer — perfect to start.
- Carbon (incl. high modulus HM): stiff and light, direct transmission and better efficiency — to progress and perform.
Check the connection compatibility (Monobloc, plate, deep tuttle) between your mast, foil and board.

Product description
Das LW steht für low weight bzw. leichtes Gewicht. Und der Name ist Programm, denn der Mast ist der leichteste und steifste Produktionsmast auf dem Markt. Das 18 mm «bullet nose» Profil ermöglicht es dem High Performance Pre-Preg Carbon Masten perfekt durchs Wasser zu schneiden und behält gleichzeitig die Steifheit in Beugung und Drehung. Die abgerundete Nose des Profils hilft dabei die laminare Strömung optimal in allen Winkelbewegungen zu halten. Was soviel heisst wie, keine performance Abstriche in scharfen Turns und bei choppy Konditionen.
Der LW-Mast ist produziert von der Schweizer Firma Carbo-Link AG, welche sehr bekannt ist für high-end Carbon Produkte für die Formel1 und den Americas Cup.
Die Platte hat einen 90x160mm Lochabstand
Der 72er Mast eignet sich sehr gut zum Foilen und ist ein großartiges Werkzeug für flache Gewässer beim Wing-, Kite- und Surf-Foilen. Er hat auch eine gute Größe für das Downwind-SUP-Foiling.
